HSC® donates 500K USD to rebuild school after devastating Sichuan earthquake

A 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the Sichuan province in China  in May 12, 2008. he earthquake’s epicenter was located 80 kilometres northwest of Chengdu.Over 69,000 people lost their lives in the quake, including 68,636 in Sichuan province. 374,176 were reported injured, with 18,222 listed as missing. HSC is commited to support the local communities and donated 500,000 USD to the local government of Qinbaijiang to support the reconstruction of damaged school buildings.

“This fund will support disaster recovery and relief efforts in the aftermath of the earthquake. Funds will help survivors and victims get necessary long-term support, including rebuilding schools and other buildings.”

The government also has made upgrading or replacing substandard schools a priority as part of a broader effort to improve and expand education in the province.
HSC® will continue to support the government’s efforts, to give back to the local communities and hope to make a difference in the province.
